Message from Brandy Benke

I would like to give a big shout out to Matt Brown and Rocky Mount Fire Station One and their First Responders! Matt Brown contacted me yesterday evening when he noticed a brush fire at the campground. He had gone through several times and found no one tending it. Because of him caring about the association and taking the time to reach out, we were able to get down there and get the fire department on their way before it got out of control. The second part of the Thank You goes to the speedy response we got from our local fire department and first responders! Because of their timely arrival, they managed to get it extinguished completely before it took off and could have damaged structures. I also would like to give a shout-out to Danny Benke, Don and Lori Thorn, and Dave and Sandy Husereau for coming down and helping out! I'm sure others would have too, they were close, and one quick phone call got them there. I hope I didn't miss anyone. If so, I apologize. We don't know how it started, just thankful for everyone jumping in and helping out. Please be extra cautious when it comes to fire, something as small as a flipped cigarette could have caused this. Glad this ended with no major losses for anyone.
