DNR, Road Report, Bylaw meeting, and Fall Festival updates

DNR update:

After speaking with the DNR environmental team, they have issued the following directives for ICHPOA members:

Since they were unaware that we are also a Recreational Association, they have released the following restrictions:

RVs are free to be used on our campground AND Private property for vacation use only. (For now)

Construction:

You may continue to clear your land, add your rocks, and build any structure that does not promote habitation.

Ex. You can build a fence but not a house. (At this time)

They have removed certain properties from our report that did not belong to Indian Creek and have acknowledged that off-grid homes are legal in the state of Missouri. Overall, it was a very pleasant and positive conversation that we want to continue.

We have a meeting next week, and DNR asks you to be patient with this process. In their words, “This will not be an easy fix, but because they are now aware that we are also a recreational association, some modifications may be authorized.”

ICHPOA board members and friends of the association are working hard to fix any issue so we can continue to sit around a campfire and enjoy each other's company. We want to remind everyone to be kind to our neighbors. Please don’t trespass on a member's property or harass them during this process. DNR has been notified that this is happening.

As we navigate through this, more updates will follow. You know what I know at this point.

A Road Report:

The campground entrance will be closed sometime this week for construction and repair. Roads cannot give you any more details at this time because they are doing the construction when the company fits us in, and therefore, we will not know the closing date until it starts. Please adjust your schedule accordingly.

Bylaw meeting

We will schedule the bylaw meeting shortly. All members will be mailed the agenda with plenty of time to make arrangements to come back down. :)

This community has come together like never before! The amount of historical documents that I have received is overwhelming! Your phone calls and positive words allow this board to continue to make this a family-friendly community we all want it to be.

Fall Festival

Thank you for the confidence that you have instilled in us as your 2023 - 2024 board. We look forward to seeing you all on November 4th for our huge Family Fall Festival! (Details to follow)
